Toronto Mercantile League

Before the pros took over, the Mercantile League owned Saturday nights at Ravina Gardens. Factory workers, tradesmen, and company men who could flat-out play and the competition was fierce. In fact, the Toronto CCMs from the Mercantile league went on to win the 1930 World Hockey Championship. The working men who laced up for the Mercantile League were not only good enough to thrill local fans they could beat the best in the world.
